It’s a piece of cake!

Have you had a feeling when all you need to have is just a piece of cake?

As some of you may know, my favorite cake is cheesecake! Every time I will have a slice of cheesecake, once it lands my mouth, ooh my! I can hear the angels singing hallelujah and I am lost in space. Now I know the reason why it is perfect for people who are stressed because when you spell it backwards it is D-E-S-S-E-R-T-S. And oh my……. I simply love it! Most especially when you pair it with coffee, I can fly and get lost in the wind hahaha.

Did you notice that there is an idiom expression of “It’s just a piece of cake”? It means something that is easy to accomplish. What am I trying to point out here? Everyday, we are preoccupied with our list of things to do within the day. Most of us have too much on their hands that some of it are getting out of hand.

My friends, life should be handled on what we can only accomplish. If we feel that our health is already at stake, we need to stop and simply take a breathe of fresh air. Life is short to focus on too much work. Life is about spending time with our love ones and being a blessing to others. Yes we need to work for a living but let us not forget that there is a life outside of the four corners of the office.

My friends, life should be lived simple. Allow me to say a prayer for you…

“Dear God, thank you for the gift of today.  Thank you for all the blessings we received right at this moment.  Send the Holy Spirit to the person reading my entry now.  Give them a sense of peace in their hearts that everything is in your hands and we have nothing to worry about.  Allow them also to be a blessing to one another.  In Jesus name I pray. Amen.”

Let us all smile as we face our triumphs because Life is a piece of cake!

An open letter to a dedicated nurse

Dearest Nurse Angel,

Hello, how are you?  I hope you’d still remember me.  It has been more than a decade since you took care of me when I was recovering from my sickness.  I wanted to send forth my gratitude to your valuable service.  Thank you for being so patient with me when I am being so difficult.  Thank you for not giving up on me when I cried in pain whenever I am having discomforts.  I am so blessed that God sent His steward through you.  Maybe your parents named you “Angel” because you are truly like one.

I cannot forget the very first time I opened my eyes and saw your Angelic face.  I felt a sense of calmness and peace inside of me.  Thank you for giving me hope to fight for my life.  I have almost given up because I feel like I cannot fulfill God’s promise for me to prosper.  I always wished that he should have taken my life if I am just going to be prohibited to do the things that I love.

Nurse Angel, I hope that God will make a way for you to read my message.  I don’t know where you are right now but I remember back then you were dreaming to work abroad for greener pastures.  I believe by this time and age, you are already living the dream that you have desired many years ago.

Lastly, I want to tell you that if you have the chance to read my message.  I hope that we will find a way to meet.  I want to tell you that I am living the life that I want.  I want to acknowledge your service and give credit to all the good things you have shared in my own being.

Continue to be an inspiration to others because that is what God has called us to do.  I will pray for you and your family.  I will be looking forward for our meet up.

Facing your own battle

Have you encountered to be trapped in your own battle? When I say “battle”, I am referring to the struggles we encounter on our day to day living. Each person has its own struggles or challenges, no one is exempted to this rule. In light of our divine grace, there are (3) types of struggles that a person encounters in life: (1) Human works, (2) Inner struggle, and (3) Outer Struggle. (Source: christianblog.com).

In life, we deal with different kinds of people. Sometimes, whenever we encounter a challenge from work, family or in a community, we tend to focus on ourselves first. Why? Because our mind is very vulnerable to be tempted by the works of the enemy. As humans, we make mistakes, we have our own shortcomings and I admit that I myself am not perfect. Who else does? Only God alone is perfect.

Our thoughts are very powerful…. Are you aware of that? Whenever we torture ourselves of what we unintentionally did to a person, that is the work of the enemy. If we try to remain selfless, they cannot touch us. We must only focus on the love of God. If you have experienced to be criticized, they are just focused on what you did wrong. When that happens, we just need to contemplate and ask for strength.

We must always put God first above everything else. When we place him above everything, love comes out naturally. Why is that? Because God is love. Love is giving, Love does not keep a record of wrong doings and Love does not focus on personal gain. Whenever we are in pain, just hold on to Him and He will protect you. He will never leave our side. When we get distracted we have to firmly hold our faith unto Him.

Whenever we get criticized, all we have to do is pray for them. When we feel that we have done something unintentional that have hurt others, we must have the courage to make peace with that person. That is the work of love. Our God doesn’t play favorites. He has given us gifts to do exactly the work he called us to do.

It is hard to give love to others if we are in pain. We have to seek the love of God in order to give love back to others. Making ourselves right and others wrong is not the works of our creator. Whenever we have an unclean heart we just have to surrender it to Him because he loves us despite of our wrong doings.

My dear friends, allow me to take part of the struggles that we encounter each day. As we travel along, let us hold one another whenever we face a challenge. We can work hand in hand to bring forth light to others who are in darkness and let us walk with them towards the end of the tunnel.

Dear God, thank you for loving us unconditionally despite of our wrong doings.  Forgive us if we have hurt our brothers and sisters.  I pray for the people who are persecuting us, forgive them for they do not know what they are doing.  Allow your divine light to shine upon those who are in their darkest moments.  Forgive their sins and help them to rise up and fulfill the desire to proclaim the good news.  Through our Lord Jesus Christ who lives and reigns with you forever and ever.  Amen.  

Finding your purpose

Do we sometimes ask ourselves…. How can I be able to contribute to this World? I frequently ask that question to myself and it took me several years in searching for that purpose. I remember i have been reading the book of Eckhart Tolle…. “A New Earth – Awakening to your life’s purpose”. I read that book way back 2009 and I was 28 years old back then. My classmate from grad school saw me reading it and I remember the exact words he said, “You don’t know your purpose? That is so silly!” I admit, at that age, I still can’t find my self worth. I have been reading that book many times but the words doesn’t sink deeply inside my heart. Year 2014 came, I suddenly felt the strength to express myself to the world. I said to myself, one day I am going to be an author. It didn’t stop from there, I faced a lot of challenges after I said that. I had this battle going on at the back of my mind which tells me, “You can’t be an author! You don’t know how to write! Your english teachers from high school are giving you a grade of C and you tell yourself that you want to write your own book? Get real Mackie!” Those were the horrible words that came to my mind. I had my own enemy inside of me. It was those words that placed my dreams on hold for a long period of time.

Sometimes we tend to get tired and stressed with our everyday routine. With all the struggles that we encounter, sometimes we forget to ask for God’s guidance. We forget to call unto him because our mind is too preoccupied with all the worries of our everyday living. My friend, I am here to remind you the verse from the book of Matthew:

He has been waiting for you all this time. It is time to take the moment to catch up with Him. Forget about all your worries and be silent for awhile.  You will feel His presence in the silence of your heart and mind.  No words needed to be spoken because He knows what is inside your heart.  It is ok to cry…. It is ok to be weak because we are human.  Once you receive His grace, He will give you the strength to stand up once again and continue your main purpose in this life. My friend, continue to be a blessing to the people that surrounds you most especially to your family. Never take them for granted because they are God’s gift to us.
